Purple
Pecans (15-7, #3)
vs. Ruby's Raiders
(11-11, #6) Skinny: The Purple Pecans finished the regular with a league record 10 game winning streak and came within 0.5 games of 2nd place overall. The hitting has been dynamite all season as the Pecans prevailed as the leagues hitting champs (.295 season BA). The Pecans look to combine their fire sticks with able pitching to fend off the troublesome Raiders. The Raiders are back again and have now finished in the Top-6 for the second straight year. However the hits have been hard to come by of late and only an improbable rally by BigV and the Raider's themselves kept the team from sliding into the #7 slot. The Raiders will need ace SP Randy Johnson to flash his Cy Young form if they are to derail the leagues hottest team. Notable:
The Pecans batted an even .300 during their ten game winning streak
(626/2090), |

BigV
(13-9, #4)
vs. Ludville 9
(12-10, #5) Skinny: BigV finished the regular season as the #4 seed overall just inches away from a Top-2 finish. BigV sports a big time offense and an up-n-down pitching staff. The pitching staff is capable of brilliance but tends to be inconsistent. As goes the P staff, so goes BigV. Ludville 9 returns to big dance with visions of a Baseball title to compliment their Football title. Similar circumstances prevail as the streaky, unpredictable team from the north rolls into the playoffs with lowered expectations but an ever dangerous line-up. L9 won their last two and the bats seem to be heating up. Notable:
This game features this years HR champs as both teams finished with 216
dingers. Last Ten: BigV: 5-5 Ludville 9: 6-4 |
